Mahlkonig is an iconic brand in the coffee industry across the world and is to coffee grinders what La Marzocco is to Espresso Machines. In fact in speciality cafes across the world these two iconic brands will very often sit side by side on the counter.
The X54 is Mahlkonig's take on the Home Grinder and it promises not too disappoint. It shares the looks of the latest Mahlkonig Espresso grinders and has a distinct quality feel to it.
The grind size is adjusted by a solid feeling dial mounted on the side of the grinder that offers stepless adjustment enabling you to get the perfect grind size.
The grinder has four programmable doses that is easily selected by turning the selection dial on the front of the machine.
The Portafilter holder can easily unclip to be replaced with an attachment that allows grinding into a stainless steel container(supplied with the machine). This makes it ideal for use as a grinder for pour overs, filter coffee etc.(The grinder has excellent grind consistency on all settings)
The hopper holds 500g of beans and has a stainless steel sliding gate to close of the hopper before removing it.
The grinder motor runs at 1050 rpm turning 54mm burrs. The grinder is super silent and has barely any retention.
All in all this may well be best home espresso grinder on the market today.
